ABSTRACT: This paper summarizes the experiences gained in teaching a "Real-Time DSP Implementations" course at Florida International University during the Spring '96 semester. The DSP setup requirements, pre-requisites and structure of the course are discussed. The interest of the students in the course is indicated according to the results from a class survey. The flexibility achieved by using a platform that the students can acquire to work at home, such as the C50 DSK package is highlighted.
